Cowart is a switch hitting third basemen who the Angels selected 18th overall with the pick they received when the Mariners signed Chone Figgins. Cowart didn’t sign until the signing deadline on August 16th so he only played in 6 games for the AZL Angels. Cowart signed for 2.3 million which was about 1 million over slot.
