The Rangers won the all important rubber game of their three game series with the Angels 9-5 as Jered Weaver failed to do what aces do. Sure Weaver was throwing on “just” three days rest however as the saying goes if you’re in the game there are no excuses. Weavers velocity, command and poise were all off in route to allowing 7 earned runs , 8 hits and 4 walks in just 6 innings pitched. The loss put the Angels three games back in the AL West heading into tonight’s game with the Mariners in Seattle.

The division is theoretically still anyone’s to claim. The Halos will need to continue to receive the offensive contributions they have over the past few weeks to make the final three games of the season ( at home against Texas) meaningful.
