Dan Haren came back off the DL and looked like his old self as the Angels won the rubber game of the series with the Texas Rangers 7-4. Haren went six innings giving up two runs, walking three and striking out three. If Haren can prove he’s healthy, its going to be huge going forward.
The Angels started the scoring right away as Mike Trout tripled and Albert Pujols drove him in with a double. With that run, Trout set the Angels and AL record for most consecutive games scored by a rookie. In the second, Alberto Callaspo started the inning with a single and Maicer Izturis doubled to have runners at second and third. Yorvit Torrealba had a ball go past him which let Callaspo score and Bobby Wilson drove in Izturis with a single. The Rangers cut the lead to 3-2 when Nelson Cruz hit his 12th homer of the year. It stayed that way til the seventh when Wilson hit his first homer of the year, and Pujols hit his 18th of the year which was a two run shot. The Rangers responded with one in the eighth when Michael Young drove in Elvis Andrus with a single. The Angels came right back when Torii Hunter drove in Wilson with a single. The Rangers mounted a threat in the ninth but only mustered a sac fly by Andrus.
