1.) Mark Trumbo 6/10 vs. Colorado Rockies

When the Angels traveled to Colorado in June, all of us were abuzz with what Mark Trumbo would do to a baseball now that he finally had the chance to hit at Coors Field. Mark was red hot coming in, but must have gotten over anxious at the plate because he only hit one out during that series. That “one” though, was the longest Angels home run of the year. A belt high fastball that traveled a true distance of 459 feet. Back back back back back GONE! The home run gave the Angels a 4-0 lead in the first inning and another bruise on the palm of Dino Ebel’s hand.

2.) Mark Trumbo 7/13 vs. New York Yankees

Oh hey, it’s that Trumbo guy again. This one didn’t go as far as the one in Colorado, but it was close. Coming in at a true distance of 457 feet and putting the Angels up 4-2 in the seventh against the Yankees. Two things noticed; one: Even the Yankee crowd was impressed. two: Hiroki Kuroda doesn’t move, yet Curtis Granderson thinks he has a chance to catch it. Silly Grandy Man.

3.) Torii Hunter 6/8 vs. Colorado Rockies.

With all the Trumbo talk going into this series, some forgot that we had a couple other big boppers capable of hitting a baseball a country mile. One in particular was Torii Hunter. Mark Gubicza called this pitch a back up slider, meaning it probably wasn’t. Torii’s home run came in with a true distance of 451 feet. Had his cleats not been tied, I’m sure they would’ve flown farther since he tried to come out of them on this swing.

4.) Mark Trumbo 6/20 vs. San Francisco Giants

Are you sensing a theme here? Trumbo dominates the list of longest home runs, and it shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone. This one came right after Kendrys Morales had gone yard, putting the Angels up 5-0. And reminding us all why Shane Loux is a journeyman extraordinaire.

Mike Trout 8/28 vs. Boston Red Sox

OK, I’m cheating here a little bit. Mark Trumbo should be fifth, but, this post seriously lacks some Michael Nelson Trout. This first inning home run put the Angels up quickly and emphatically. Coming in at a true distance of 445 feet. And they said he would top out with a 65 power tool rating.
