The Angels, unsurprisingly, continued their Cactus League schedule. It’s unsurprising in that it was scheduled to happen months ago and it did indeed happen. This is all just a way of saying that things went as scheduled. There were no incidents that led to the cancellation of any particular game—like a player spontaneously combusting or a grizzly bear roaming leftfield in search of sustenance and fisticuffs.

( This Is How Mike Trout Does Yard Work)

If Mike Trout’s first career home run was a sign of things to come then  Angel fans are in for a nice ride. Trout’s 3 run home run in the top of the 8th inning proved to be the decisive blow for the Angels as they went on to win 9 -3 Sunday in Baltimore. The win gave the Angels the 2 games to 1 victory in the weekend series and saw them again move to with in 3 games of the Texas Rangers.

The Angels dropped 3 of 4 games to the A’s over the weekend culminating in a 9-1 rout on Sunday. Joel Pineiro pitched liked a man who has never seen a baseball  lasting just a 1/3 of an inning while allowing 7 earned runs and recording  just a single out. The Angels are now 4 games back of the Rangers entering tomorrows series at the Big A.

For the season the last place A’s are 8-5 against the Angels.
