One Year Ago Today

A year ago yesterday, young Nick Adenhart was throwing six shutout inning against the A’s, who ironically are coming to town tonight to again face the Angels. Shortly after midnight, on April 9th, Adenhart, along with Courtney Stewart and Henry Pearson, were killed in a car accident. Fellow passenger Jon Wilhite was severely injured, but ultimately survived.
It is hard not to wonder what the Angels’ rotation would look like with Adenhart in it, and what his potential may have been. There isn’t a lot to be said about this, the facts are known and the new news is sparse, but I know I have not forgotten Nick Adenhart, nor have my fellow Angel fans. At the one-year anniversary of his death, I think it’s nice to take a moment in remembrance.
