Wilson Beings Rehab Assignment

Angels catcher Bobby Wilson has started his rehab assignment for Single- A Rancho Cucamonga tonight, with the plan for him to catching five innings Tuesday night, and start again Wednesday, to allow him to back into the swing of things and work out any stiffness issues he may have. Wilson was injured during a collision at the plate with Yankees 1B Mark Teixeira during his first start of the season on April 23rd, suffering a sprained left ankle and a concussion. Wilson has no numbers to speak of, since it was his first start of the season, though it is the first time I’ve seen someone with a -100 OPS+. Wilson will be the #3 catcher once Mathis returns from his own injury. What order the other two in front of him will be in is anyone’s guess.
