OF Chevy Clarke G 38 H-AB 35-162 Avg .216 HR 3 2B 5 3B 7 SB 9 CS 2 BB 14 K 55 OBP .294 SLG .389

Clarke is a switch hitting center fielder who was selected 30th overall in the 2010 draft by the Angels. Clarke signed on July 2nd and signed for slot money receiving a 1.089 million dollar bonus. Clarke struggled to get on base in 2010, but it seems like he has great speed, 7 triples and 9-11 stealing bases. Clarke also struck out way too much, striking out once every three at bats

2B Taylor Lindsey G 45 H-AB 55-194 Avg .284 HR 0 2B 12 3B 6 SB 8 CS 3 BB 12 K 33 OBP .325 SLG .407

Lindsey drafted 37th overall with the Angels first supplement round pick was selected as a shortstop, he did not start one game at shortstop instead playing all his games at second base. Lindsey was the Angels most impressive hitter in the AZL but that’s not saying much. Lindsey struggled to take walks, only walking once every 16 AB.

OF Ryan Bolden G 44 H-AB 28-150 Avg .187 HR 0 2B 1 3B 5 SB 11 CS 7 BB 14 K 68 OBP .278 SLG .260

The way Bolden bats/throws is rare; he throws left-handed and bats right-handed. Bolden was taken 40th overall and like Clarke struggled. Bolden struck out almost every other AB. Bolden wasn’t very good with the glove either, he had 6 errors in only 34 games in left field.

P Chance Mistric G 12 IP 52 H 57 ER 26 ERA 4.50 K 44 BB 15

If Mistric ever makes it to the big leagues it will be a pretty cool story. Mistric 26 years old is a former Marine and got a second chance at a baseball career after returning from a tour of duty in Iraq. Mistric has pretty good control only 2.6 BB/9. My guess is that the Angels will convert him to a reliever in 2011 so he can progress through the minor leagues quicker.

P Cam Bedrosian G 5 IP 12 H 13 ER 6 ERA 4.50 K 10 BB 7

The Angels took Bedrosian 29th overall in the 2010 draft. Bedrosian is the son of former CY Young award winner Steve Bedrosian, who won the award as the Phillies closer in 1987. Bedrosian missed the end of the season with an injury

P Suammy Baez G 13 IP 74 H 78 ER 22 ERA 2.68 K 70 BB 17

Baez has great control walking only 2.1 every 9 innings. Baez 21 is a little old for the AZL, but if he can continue to have great control he should advance pretty quickly. Baez spent last season in the AZL, and the two years prior to that in the Dominican Summer League.

P Erick Cendejas G 15 IP 23 H 18 ER 5 ERA 1.96 K 25 BB 4

Cendejas like Baez has great control. He walked only 1.6 batters every 9 innings last season. Batters hit only .209 off of him. Cendejas is 22 so he is also pretty old for the AZL but being a reliever he will advance a lot quicker than a starter, if he keeps putting up good numbers.
