Mike Trout #1 Outfield Prospect – MLB.com

MLB.com has listed their top ten outfield prospects, and the Angels Mike Trout leads the pack. Here’s what they had to say about him:
"1. Mike Trout, Angels: Who said players from the Northeast were behind their counterparts from California or Florida? Trout came from a New Jersey high school and established himself as one of the most exciting prospects in the game in his first full season. He’s got plus speed, which he uses extremely well — both on the bases and to play an outstanding center field. He’s got an advanced approach at the plate and he should hit for plenty of average, with additional power to come. At 19 he’s very young, but at this rate, it may not take him much longer to reach Los Angeles."
So, the Wells signing brings in an interesting dynamic to all of this… If you have Hunter, Wells, and Bourjos, what happens when Trout makes his way up? Who’s going to be sitting? Does Hunter or Wells get a day off? Does Bourjos take the bench for a couple of games?
Trout is a player that is almost MLB ready, but one has to wonder, with the Wells signing, if Reagins feels that Trout is currently MLB ready. If any injury comes to Wells/Hunter/Bourjos, keep your eye out for Trout to make his way from Triple-A to the bigs!
