After Chatwood And Conger Shine – Halos Look To Sweep As Haren Takes The Hill

The Halos Won 7-2 last night behind a gem of a start by 21 year old rookie Tyler Chatwood and 3 RBI nights from both Hank Conger and Howie Kendrick. Conger’s 3 run shot in the 6th put the Halos up 6-1 and virtually locked up the W for the Angels. Tyler Chatwood was that good, displaying great fastball command, an excellent pace and a sharp curve ball on his way to his first big league win. Chatwood’s final line : 7 Innings, 1 ER ,5 hits, 2 walks and 3 k’s likely understate how impressive his night was. The Sox have a potent lineup and to see Chatwood navigate through and virtually shut them down has Halo fans salivating. Expectations should be tempered however as the biggest hurdle for young players is generally consistency. However If Chatwood can maintain his command and not walk batters, there is nor reason he will not stick as the Angels 5th starter once Joel Pineiro returns.
