New Day , New City , No Runs – Angels Need Power Transplant

The not scoring ways continued Wednesday night as the Angels were shutout for a second stratight game for the second time this season. To say that the Angels offense sucks right now would be an understatement.

Currently there is no power threat in the entire lineup. Torii Hunter, and Bobby Abreu have clearly lost bat speed and Mark Trumbo has not yet learned to work himself into hitters counts consistently enough to take advantage of his raw power. Howie Kendrick is probably the teams best power hitting option and currently leads the team in SLG (.497). After Kendrick, you have Maicer Izturis and Erick Aybar leading the team in slugging !!  What it all boils down to is that in order to score runs  the Halos need to string together a slew of singles which currently is not happening and even when it does happen the likelihood of the big inning is very minimal. The Angels need to find some power somehow some where since Kendrys Morales is not coming back.

  • Up Next: Dan Haren will pray for run support as  the Halos close out the 2 game set against the  Mariners  today.
