Angels Trade Deadline Predictions And The Thursday Links
Since his tenure began as Angels GM in 2007 Tony Reagins has made several notable trades garnering him the reputation as somewhat of a mover and a shaker. In years past Reagins has dealt Orlando Cabrera for Jon Garland, and acquired Mark Teixera , Scott Kazmir and Dan Haren in deadline deals. Just this year Tony shocked beings from here to Mars by trading for Vernon Wells. So what does that mean for the Halos and the upcoming July 31st trade deadline?
If you believe your boy Lyle Spencer of MLB.COM it means nothing. Spencer writes that given the Angels recent hot streak the club may choose to stand pat at the deadline and “dance with the chick they brought”. My guess is any posturing and were “fine as is” comments coming from Tony Reagins are just that…posturing. The club could benefit immensely from another right handed power arm in the bull pen and an additional power bat.
Look for the Halos to try in some form or fashion to fill those gaps in the upcoming weeks. Trading Tony cannot be stopped.
