Angels Lose To Texas Playoff Hopes Dashed

2011 was an interesting season. The Angels managed to kind of stay in contention despite having a terrible offense and really only one reliable bull pen arm (Scott Downs). If like me you never really bought into the Halos as a contender then you are likely not too dismayed that the club lost 4-3 to Texas on Monday night which officially ended their fictitious playoff hopes. Cue the music. Like the song Closing Time says:

"“Every new beginning comes from some other beginnings end”"

I suspect that with a few tweaks namely some bull pen help – a healthy/ productive Kendrys Morales and another quality rotation arm (or the emergence of Richards or Chatwood) the Angels will actually be a real contender in 2012.
