Before I begin my first series preview for Halo Hangout, I want to say what a honor it is to be co-editor for this site. I will contribute things such as Series previews and a new segment called Halo Highlights, which will provide you with what happened in the game the night before in case you missed it. If you haven’t already, please like our page on facebook and follow us on twitter and follow me and our other writers.

The freeway series begins on Monday, as the Halos head to Dodger Stadium to face the team with the best record in baseball in the Dodgers. The Halo bats have been on fire lately, scoring at least six runs in each of their past six games. Skipper Mike Scioscia may have found something in hitting Torii Hunter behind Mike Trout and ahead of Albert Pujols. The trio went 23-40 in the series vs the Rockies. The Angels have owned the freeway series of late, winning nine of the last 12 vs the Dodgers. The Dodgers only loss in their past seven games has been the combined no-hitter over the weekend against the Mariners.

Pitching Matchups:

Monday: Garrett Richards vs Chris Capuano

Tuesday: Jerome Williams vs Aaron Harang

Wednesday: C.J. Wilson vs Nathan Eovaldi

On the plus side the Angels don’t have to face Clayton Kershaw and Chad Billingsley, but this is a deep Dodgers pitching staff which has keyed their success this season. It looks like the Dodgers will be getting Juan Uribe back in time for Monday’s game.
