The Angels interleague homestand continues tonight with the start of three games against the San Francisco Giants. The most famous match up between the two franchises came in the 2002 World Series which gave the Angels their only championship. Both teams are in second place in their respective divisions.

The Angels just took two of three from the Diamondbacks thanks to strong pitching.   Ervin Santana had a perfect game going until Justin Upton broke that up but settled for the complete game one hit shutout and Garrett Richards pitched a solid eight innings of work on Sunday. The Angel bats have been quiet of late only scoring four runs in that series.

The Giants come off a week in which they had a perfect game from Matt Cain. The Angels will face Mr. Perfect in the first game of the series. They also come off of losing two out of three to the Mariners in Seattle over the weekend. There’s also some controversy as to whether or not Tim Lincecum will remain in the rotation. Lincecum is 2-8 with an ERA over 6.

Here’s what the pitching match-ups look like

Monday: Matt Cain vs Jerome Williams

Tuesday: Barry Zito vs C.J. Wilson

Wednesday: Ryan Vogelsong vs Dan Haren

All games are at 7:05 PT
