Mama said there will be days like this. This is a game you throw away and move on from. The Angel defense self-destructed as the Blue Jays take their second game of the series 11-2 and will look to win the series on Canada Day. The second inning was the downfall.

The Blue Jays got their first run in the first on a double play ball hit by Jose Bautista. Then came the seven run second. Kelly Johnson doubled and Yunel Escobar hit a two run homer to make it 3-0.  After two outs, J.P. Arencibia singled and went to second on a passed ball.  Brett Lawrie reached on Peter Bourjos‘ error which scored Arencibia. Colby Rasmus doubled in the run. Bautista drove in Rasums with a single. Edwin Encarnacion singled in Bautista due to a error by Mike Trout. Kelly Johnson tripled him in. In the top of the third, Bobby Wilson singled and Maicer Izturis drove him in with a double. In the bottom of the fifth, Brett Lawrie hit a three run homer, his eighth of the year which drove in three more runs.

Garrett Richards probably had his worse start since being back up with the Angels. With Jerome Williams on his way back, its possible that Richards may be sent back down to the minors. Yes not all of it his fault because of the defense, however he did give up a couple of bombs.

The series concludes Sunday afternoon with C.J. Wilson taking on Aaron Laffey. Happy Canada Day.
