Halo Highlights- Angels Finish First Half With Home Run Barrage

Mark Trumbo decided he needed a little more practice before tonight’s home run derby. I guess he’s ready now after yesterday’s game. Trumbo’s homer was one of four hit by the Angels as they rolled over the Orioles 6-0. This was the Angels 13th shutout of the year which leads major league baseball and is two more than the Angels had last year.
Erick Aybar got the scoring started hitting his second homer of the year in the second. In the bottom of the third Mike Trout crushed his 12th homer of the year. After Torii Hunter‘s double, Albert Pujols hit his 14th homer of the year. In the fourth Aybar and Peter Bourjos walked and Maicer Izturis drove in Aybar with a single. In the fifth, Trumbo hit his 22nd homer of the year.
Give credit to Brad Mills. He pitched five shut out innings giving up three hits and striking out six. He may get another start after the all-star break depending on what Dan Haren‘s injury situation. If anything it will give Mills some more confidence. It also proved to Angel management that maybe they have a little more depth in the rotation.
No game preview for tonight, but let’s watch Mark Trumbo in the Home Run Derby Tonight and see how he does in his first.
