Halo Highlights- Offense Only Musters Four Hits In Loss

Many scouts were at the Big A to check out Garrett Richards, as the Angels may dangle him in trade talks. You have to wonder if they like what they saw. Richards gave up four runs in the first two innings and the Angels couldn’t recover as Kansas City took the game 4-1.
Alex Gordon led off the game for the Royals with a double and Lorenzo Cain belted a two run homer to give the Royals a 2-0 lead. The Angels scored their loan run in the bottom half when Mark Trumbo drove in Torii Hunter with a single. The Royals came right back with two in the second when Gordon drove in Eric Hosmer with a single and Alcides Escobar drove in Chris Getz with a groundout.
Will Smith (no not that one) was masterful for KC, giving up only two hits over seven innings. Jean Segura made his major league debut at shortstop for the Angels, going 0-3.
The Angels and Royals wrap up the series with a matinee affair, as Jered Weaver will look to continue his amazing home year against Luke Hochevar. Weaver is 7-0 with a 0.67 ERA at home this year. Opponents are hitting just .145 against him at home as well. The game will be at 12:35PT/3:35ET.
