Halo Highlights-Angels All-Stars Lead Way In Victory

In important games, you need your stars to be stars. That’s exactly what Albert Pujols, Mike Trout and Jered Weaver were for the Angels last night as they cut the deficit to three games behind Texas as the Angels beat the Rangers 6-2. Weaver improves his record to 14-1 going 6.1 innings allowing only two runs while striking out three.
Pujols got the scoring started in the fourth, blasting his first of two home runs on the night. In the sixth, Trout hit a solo shot, his 18th of the year and Pujols hit number two on the night and his 20th of the year. Torii Hunter added a two run double in the seventh. The Rangers responded with their only two runs of the night when David Murphy drove in two with a double.
A little bit of a concern for tonight’s game as Garrett Richards steps in for Dan Haren. Haren was scratched due to stiffness in his side. When you have a guy coming off of a back injury, you don’t wanna hear about stiffness in his side. Richards will take Yu Darvish at 5:05PT/8:05ET.
