C.J. Wilson was brought in to be a co-ace with Jered Weaver. Right now he’s not that. Wilson game up six runs in five innings while walking five as the Angels lost 10-4. Wilson has given up 14 runs in his past two starts to the division rival Oakland A’s and Texas Rangers.

Jonny Gomes started the scoring with a solo shot as the second batter for the A’s. In the third Yoenis Cespedes and Chris Carter each singled. Brandon Inge walked which loaded the bases. Derek Norris reached when Alberto Callaspo made a throwing error which allowed two runs in. Adam Rosales hit a sac fly to drive in Inge. Jemile Weeks then tripled to drive in Norris. In the fifth, Coco Crisp doubled, stole third, and came in on a Gomes single. In the sixth, Inge singled and Norris and Rosales hit back to back home runs off David Carpenter. The Angels finally got on the board when Maicer Izturis singled home a run. The A’s came right back when Josh Reddick hit his 25th homer of the year. Birthday boy Mike Trout hit his 20th homer of the year in the eighth. In the ninth, Erick Aybar hit a two run homer, his fifth of the year.

The Angels and A’s will play a rubber game matinee today. Zack Greinke will take on Dan Straily at 12:35 PT/3:35 ET
