Even with the ninth loss in the past 12 games, there were positives to take away from last night’s. Albert Pujols went two for four after being one for his last 23. C.J. Wilson pitched pretty well, giving up two earned runs in 6.1 innings before leaving after trying to bare-hand a ground ball, something you should never do as a pitcher. X-rays were negative and he should make his next start. It just seems like the Angels can’t put together a game where everything clicks on all cylinders.

The Indians got two in the third when Jason Donald and Asdrubal Cabrera each drove in runs with singles. They tacked on another run in the fourth when Brent Lillibridge hit his second homer of the year. The Angels finally got on the board when Pujols hit his 25th homer of the year,a two run shot. In the ninth, the Indians got three straight singles to load the bases. Lou Marson walked to drive in a run. Jason Kipnis hit a sac fly and Jason Isringhausen threw a wild pitch to add another run.

Zack Greinke will take on Ubaldo Jimenez tonight in game two of the series at 7:05PT/10:05ET.
