Halo Highlights- Trumbo and Santana Lead Way To Victory

Is it crazy to think that Ervin Santana is right now the number two starter behind Jered Weaver? At this point he is. Santana struck out four over 6.1 innings and helped lead the Angels to a 5-3 victory over the Red Sox.
In the top of the third, Mike Trout singled, went to second when Aaron Cook‘s pickoff attempt was thrown away and Albert Pujols drove him home with a single. Trout played in his 100th game tonight and finished with 144 hits over 100 games, the most for a rookie since Tony Oliva had 144 in his first 100 games in 1964. In the fourth Howard Kendrick and Alberto Callaspo singled. Erick Aybar and Chris Iannetta brought them in with singles of their own. In the fifth, Mark Trumbo hit his 30th homer of the year. Trumbo is the first Angel with 30 homers since Kendrys Morales in 2009. The Red Sox got on the board in the sixth when Jarrod Saltalamacchia hit a two run homer, his 21st of the year. The Red Sox got their last run in the seventh when Scott Podsednik doubled, went to third on a groundout and scored on Jordan Walden‘s wild pitch.
The series continues tomorrow as a pair of aces will face each other. Jered Weaver and Clay Buchholz will do battle at 7:05ET/4:05PT
