Well, this is certainly a different Angels team we are seeing than the one that was on the field a couple of weeks ago. Winning does cure a lot of ills and right now the Angels are on a roll. Oakland’s lead in the wild card is down to 2.5 as the Angels beat Oakland 7-1.

Alberto Callaspo singled and went all the way to third on a sac bunt and a groundout and then scored on Torii Hunter‘s single. Albert Pujols doubled. Kendrys Morales was intentionally walked. Howard Kendrick’s single drove in two but Morales was thrown out at third. The A’s got one of the runs back when after two walks, Seth Smith singled to score a run.

The Angels broke it open in the ninth. Peter Bourjos walked. Erick Aybar singled. Alberto Callaspo reached when Derrick Norris made an error on the bunt attempt. Maicer Iztruis walked to drive in a run. After a strikeout Hunter singled to drive in two. Then, with Morales batting, Izturis and Hunter pulled off a double steal for the final run.

After a day off, The Angels return home for an important homestand against the Tigers and A’s. We don’t know who will start the game but he will take on Max Scherzer who’s been one of the hottest pitchers in the game of late at 7:05PT/10:05ET
