When you’re hot, you’re hot and right now the Angels are absolutely on fire.  The Angels earned their 10th win the in the past 11 games as they beat the Tigers 6-1. Mike Trout continued his all-time ridiculous season with a home run and a fantastic catch robing Prince Fielder of a home run to end the game.

When you’re Angel hot you get to Justin Verlander early and often. That’s what they did with a four run first. Trout hit his 26th homer of the year to lead off the bottom of the first. After a groundout, Albert Pujols walked. Kendrys Morales and Howard Kendrick hit back to back doubles. After another out, Vernon Wells hit a double to bring in Kendrick. The Angels added to the lead in the third when Pujols and Morales hit back to back doubles.

The Tigers got a run back when Austin Jackson reached on a Maicer Iztruis error and Omar Infante followed with a single to drive Jackson in.  The Angels got that run back in the bottom half, when with Trout and Torii Hunter aboard, Pujols hit one that deflected off Verlander’s foot for a infield hit (when you are on a hot streak those go for hits)

The Angels will look to bring out the brooms this afternoon as two of the biggest trade deadline acquisitions go head to head with Anibal Sanchez and Zack Greinke dueling at 12:35PT/3:35ET
