Halo Highlights- Callaspo Delivers Pinch Hit Game-Winning Hit

Anytime you can win on a walk-off it’s a good night. The Angels did just that as they earned their ninth win in their last ten games with a 3-2 victory of the Detroit Tigers. Ervin Santana has really stepped up of late, and that continued last night, giving up two runs while striking out ten. Max Scherzer was on too, giving up two runs over eight innings.

The Angels got the scoring started right away. Mike Trout led off with a double and Torii Hunter singled him in. Hunter was then forced out on Albert Pujols groundout. Kendrys Morales then followed with a double. Howard Kendrick’s groundout would bring home Pujols. The Tigers got a run right back when Prince Fielder hit his 25th homer of the year. Alex Avila hit his eighth homer in the top of the third to tie the game.
Then the ninth inning came. Morales singled. With two out Erick Aybar followed with a single. Then in a surprising move, Alberto Callaspo pinch hit for Mark Trumbo. Callaspo singled to drive in the game winning run.
The series continues tonight as C.J. Wilson will take on Justin Verlander at 6:05PT/9:05ET.
