Halo Highlights: Weaver Gets 100th Career Win

Jered Weaver earned his 100th career win as the Angels used an eight run fourth to beat the Texas Rangers 11-3. The Angels are three games out of a wild card spot.

The Angels got it started in the first when Erick Aybar singled, stole second and scored on Torii Hunter‘s single. The Rangers responded in the third with three runs as Mike Napoli hit his 19th homer of the year. Mitch Moreland followed with a single and Ian Kinsler then hit his 18th homer of the year.Then the fourth came. Vernon Wells led off with a single and Alberto Callaspo walked. After a groundout, Chris Iannetta singled them home. Mike Trout walked and Aybar was hit by a pitch to load the bases. A Tanner Scheppers wild pitch brought home a run. Hunter walked to re-load the bases. Kendrys Morales and Howard Kendrick followed with singles. Wells hit a sac fly and Callaspo followed with a double.
The Angels added a run in the fifth when Trout walked, stole his 46th base of the year and scored on Aybar’s single. In the eighth, Kole Calhoun singled, went to second on a wild pitch, went to third on a groundout and scored on Maicer Izturis‘ single.
The series continues tonight with a battle of left-handers as C.J. Wilson and Derek Holland will duel at 10:05ET/7:05PT.
