Nick Maronde: Maronde came up during the latter part of the season and helped out in the bullpen. Maronde put up good numbers as a starter in the minors last season at a couple of different levels, however, the Angels have to decide whether his future is in relief or as a starter. If a pitcher gets injured in either role, Maronde may find himself in the bigs.Luis Jimenez: If Alberto Callaspo gets injured, or is ineffective, Jimenez may be the guy next in line to take the spot at third base. Granted Kaleb Cowart is on the way and is the Angels best prosepct, but Jimenez is no scrub. He hit .309 in AAA last season, however, his OBP left something to be desired. Look for him to get a look during the spring.
Daniel Tillman: This may be more of a September call-up kind of thing and he may not be ready for it, but he’s an interesting guy to watch. Tillman is a power arm out of the bullpen, and the best bullpens are built on cheap, power arms. He struggled a bit when promoted to AA, last season, however he should be more comfortable. Someone to keep an eye on for the bullpen down the road.
