With 2013 just two days away (take that Mayans), I decided to take a look at the Angels schedule for the upcoming season (by the way, we are less than two months from their first spring training game). There are a few series that are really interesting. Let’s go ahead, and just for fun, pick series to watch for the 2013 season.

April: 1-4 @ Cincinnati Reds

Why: First of all, its the first time that there’s an interleague series to open the season in MLB history. Secondly, it’s against a team that is loaded in their own right, with Joey Votto, Aroldis Chapman, Jay Bruce and Shin-Soo Choo. April is never a good barometer to see who’s going to be good and who isn’t but it’s certainly an interesting matchup right away.

May 27-28@ Los Angeles Dodgers & 29-30 vs Los Angeles Dodgers

Why: The two teams off the off-season have been the Angels and the Dodgers. There are many stars amongst the two teams, and you can bet at least two maybe not all four of these games will be on national television. It’s also right when baseball really starts to heat up, right at Memorial Day

June 25-27 @ Detroit Tigers

Why: Going to Detroit and taking on old friend Torii Hunter, could be a good measuring stick series for them if they are both playing well. The teams split the 10 games in 2012

July 2-4 vs St. Louis Cardinals

Why: Albert Pujols against his former team. Think he’ll be a little excited for that one?

August 1-4 vs Toronto Blue Jays

Why: The other team making a lot of headlines in the off-season is the Toronto Blue Jays. This is the Blue Jays only trip in and it’s right after the non-waiver deadline

September 26-29 @ Texas Rangers

Why: Last series of the season. Could mean a little. Could mean a lot. You never know.
