Wells Staying Put: For all the people thinking that the New York Yankees would replace Curtis Granderson with a trade for Vernon Wells, that dream is dead. Bill Shakin of the LA Times reported that isn’t going to happen. The Angels won’t eat enough of the contract. Arte Moreno has said in the past he’s not going to pay Wells to play somewhere else. Wells is going to be the fourth outfielder for this team.Cordero Back To Bigs?: Chad Cordero‘s comeback has a been a story to watch around Angels camp. Harold Reynolds on MLB Network’s Hot Stove today, said Cordero will be moving up to big league camp and pitching for the Angels today.

Hall of First: Bill Hall is a super utility player. Now he’s adding first base to his repertoire. Hall played five innings of first base yesterday for the Angels. Even if Hall doesn’t make the Angels roster, adding another position to what he can do is better for him. It adds to his value. The Angels could use him in AAA, even if he doesn’t make the squad, but, another team could feel that he fits their bench.

Injury Update: Sean Burnett could start throwing again today from flat ground. The Angels think he’ll be ready for opening day. Ryan Madson is taking another step in his recovery by throwing in back to back days for the first time, today and tomorrow
