Ryan Madson hopes to join the Angels bullpen next week, Mike Scioscia‘s stock is down and, a new catcher controversy in Anaheim. I was hoping that when I woke up, the events of last night would have been washed away like a bad dream. Alas, I am not that lucky.

Madson Hopes to Join Angels Bullpen Next Week
Methinks he should maybe hurry it up then. This bullpen is in dire need of a jolt, and Madson can surely supply that. But we’ve been down this road before with Ryan, so I’m gonna play the “I’ll believe it when I see it card,” and hope that I get to believe it.
Early Returns: Managerial Stock Market Report
So, Scioscia’s stock is down. Of course it is. He’s at the helm of a team with a $153.3MM payroll, and said team’s current record is 11-21.
Weaver Recovery Taking Longer Than Anticipated
*Repeatedly beats head off of desk* I honestly don’t know how much more bad news I can take with this team, and May has only just begun. It’s like being stuck on a carousel that wont stop while desperately trying to get away from Pennywise the Clown. Please, Angels, don’t let Pennywise catch me.
Wilson Done in by Defense in Loss to Astros
If it’s not one thing, it’s another I suppose. This team just can’t “click,” can it?
What Does Josh Hamilton Need to get Going?
Obviously, Josh Hamilton needs 17 Red Bulls and six cans of Skoal wintergreen long cut. OK, maybe he doesn’t. But I’m sure Jim Eppard has had many-a pow wow with Hambone trying to straighten him out at the plate.
Money Quote:
"Maybe it is a cosmic type thing. Perhaps if Hamilton went a long way towards reassuring the good fans of the Rangers that he is sorry for what he said about them not being a baseball town, it would go a long way towards straightening up his concentration at the plate."
Don’t even think about it, Josh. Don’t. Even. Think. About it.
A New Catcher Controversy in Anaheim?
Great. This is just what the team needs. A new “Mike Scioscia favorite” to replace the old favorite who shall not be named. it is odd though that Hank Conger was, all of a sudden, able to throw out would-be base stealers. Of course, this article was written before last night’s game against the Astros. So, there is that.
Money Quote:
"Don’t worry, I won’t go all Lyle Spencer on you and start dropping catcher ERA figures, although I could since they strengthen my case."
