Pujols: "They said this is what's best for organization. I'm for it. It's tough but I can't be selfish. I expect to be fully recovered."

The first baseman for the Los Angeles Angels had been suffering from plantar fasciitis all season but had to decided to play through the painful ailment. But the slugger further aggravated the foot injury in late July against the Oakland Athletics and was promptly put on the disabled list. It was unlikely that Pujols would be back in 2013 but it wasn’t until today that the Angels made the news official.
Pujols finished the season with career lows hitting .258 with 17 home runs and 64 RBI.
