The Angels went into the second-game against the Milwaukee Brewers having defeated them handedly in the first game with Jered Weaver on the mound. Could they make it two in a row with the struggling Jerome Williams taking the hill?

They did make it two in a row but it didn’t come easy. The details of the first 7 innings are unnecessary considering how it ended. The Angels bullpen which came into tonights game with just over 19 innings of work on the road trip and having allowed two runs, finally coughed a couple runs in the 7th when Buddy Boshers put two on and then Michael Kohn gave up a single that allowed the Brewers to go ahead 5-4.

Fast forward to the ninth and it was heroic time. With two outs in the ninth, Mike Scioscia sent Josh Hamilton up to bat as a pinch-hitter. He worked the count to 3-1 and then roped a double into left that was nearly caught but missed the Brewers left-fielders glove by inches. Then Hank Conger pinch hit and kapow! He smacked a huge home run down the left-field line putting the Angels ahead.

Ernesto Frieri came in and made things interesting by putting the tying run on base with just one out. But Ernasty was able to eventually close the door and the Angels win another game on the road trip with an exciting late-inning comeback.
