In first baseman/outfielder/one-time third baseman/designated hitter/muscle man, Mark Trumbo, the Angels can expect quite a few things. They can expect that when he gets a hold of his pitch, there are few players in baseball who will hit it as far as he does. They can expect an incredible amount of streakiness. They can expect (now) that he can grow a beard at a moments notice. They can expect that he is just as analytical of his game as we, the fans, are.

Last night on Twitter, the Angels and their fans learned another thing about the lumbering hometown slugger. They learned that Mark Trumbo is quick with a snappy comeback in case the situation calls for it.

I’m not a big fan of TV, so I’m not an authority on whether or not the “Walking Dead” comment is legit. But, here’s some aloe vera for you Keith. It should help soothe the burn.

Sliders are tough pitches to hit, just ask Brandon Wood (too soon?). And I doubt any person is more acutely aware of Trumbo’s weaknesses at the plate as Mark Trumbo is. But with this comment, I am pretty sure Mark bought himself a few years of good fortune with fans who are skeptical of his future performance. At least, he got a few “get out of jail free cards” from me.
