The Los Angeles Angels have 10/1 odds to win the 2015 World Series according to Bovada. Less than 24 hours from the finish and we are already ready for 2015 Opening Day and I have no problem with that. Looking at the list of teams in this article, the Angels and Detroit Tigers have the best odds to win the World Series from the American League, both at 10/1.
The two teams ahead of the Angels are both National League teams, the Los Angeles Dodgers and Washington Nationals. The Dodgers opened up as the favorite in 2014 and couldn’t make it past the first round of the playoffs. Here they are again at the top of the list for 2015.
If you ask me, the Angels have the best American League team. The offense, starting pitching and bullpen are all above average and they should bring back a ton of players, almost all. The one glaring offseason move that needed to be made was taken care of earlier today, with the picking up of the Huston Street option for $7MM. That move solidifies the back-end of the bullpen for the 2015 season.

Looking down the list for American League West opponents and I find the Seattle Mariners at 18/1 followed by the Oakland Athletics at 20/1. The Mariners are a much improved club, but are still almost double the odds of the Angels.
These odds mean nothing really, but on paper the Angels have a great team. If they can stay healthy and produce the way they should the playoffs shouldn’t be a question in 2015. According to the smart people making the odds, they are the co-favorite to make the World Series in the American League. If you ask me, the Tigers are not that great of an overall club. The bullpen needs major help and they could lose Max Scherzer to free agency. If that move ends up happening look for the Angels to have even better odds and be tops in the American League.
