The rangy right-hander, Jered Weaver, has been brilliant for the Halos ever since he debuted in 2006. Weaver grew up in Simi Valley, Calif., and attended Long Beach State before the Angels made him their first round selection in 2004. During his rookie season in ’06, Weaver won his first 9 decisions, and has improved in every season since. Weaver has been a member of the Angels for nine seasons, making the All-Star team three times. Weaver has finished in the top five in Cy Young voting three times. His career 36.4 WAR is good for third in franchise history.

Jered Weaver has put together an impressive resume in his first nine seasons. His 131 career wins places him third in the history of the franchise. Weaver currently sits just five wins back of, Nolan Ryan, for wins as a member of the Halos, and will likely pass him in 2015. Weaver has posted an ERA of 3.28 over his career, and averaged 7.5 strikeouts per game. Weaver has made a big impact when the Halos have made the postseason in recent seasons. Jered has made seven career playoff appearances, and gone 2-1, with 2.60 ERA.

Weaver’s career is far from over, and he figures to become one of the most storied names in Angels’ history before hanging up his cleats.
