Trevor Gott and Jeremy McBryde Scheduled to Pitch Today

Trevor Gott was acquired from the San Diego Padres as part of the deal that also saw Huston Street join the Angels. Gott is a hard throwing right-hander who is turning heads early in camp. Gott represented the Halos last fall during the Arizona Fall League. He held his own against some of the top youngsters in the game, and Dipoto said last week that Gott is surprisingly close to the Majors. The 22-year-old went 4-5 with a 3.00 ERA across two levels in 2014. I am excited to see Gott make his spring debut this afternoon.

Jeremy McBryde was signed as a free agent this offseason after spending 2014 in the Oakland A’s organization. McBryde received a Major League contract despite spending last season in triple-A. The right-hander is another guy catching the attention of the Angels’ coaching staff this spring. Dipoto mentioned him as well in his MLB Network interview last week. The 27-year-old went 3-4 with the Sacramento River Cats in 2014, and posted an impressive 2.22 ERA.
