He’s big, he was a football star, his name is Marc Krauss. The prospect first baseman was called to play first base after starter Albert Pujols exited the game with an apparent hand injury. Krauss had been off to a rough start ever since he got recalled last week.

Krauss came up to bat with two on in the seventh inning and hit it in the alley for a two run double. Two runs would score giving the Angels a 4-3 lead. Krauss had been just 2 for 16 so far this season. With Pujols possibly out for some time, it’s possible that Krauss could see more playing time along with Efren Navarro and C.J. Cron.

This was only the second hit for Krauss, who only had one hit in his last 14 at bats going into yesterdays game. The team was needing an offensive spark from the left side of the plate. Krauss hasn’t quite proved himself yet.

” It’s a total team effort” Krauss told OC Register, “We’re going to need all 25 guys and more throughout the whole season. I was able to get the job done today”. The whole team will need to step up to avoid these close games that have happened quite a bit this season so far.
