Why it will happen: The Angels rotation has struggled with consistency all year, and could benefit from adding a number one type of starter. Basically any prospects excluding Sean Newcomb would be thrown into this trade, which might be worth it to add Samardzija and solidify a spot in the rotation long-term.

Why it won’t happen: Basically every other team in first or second place in their division is interested in his services. The Angels probably won’t match some teams offers in terms of prospect packages, but mostly I don’t see them picking up enough of Samardzija’s contract.
