Angels Mid-Season Report Card & Awards

GRADE: B+
COMMENTS: The underrated aspect of this team so far has been the pitching staff. The season started with Jered Weaver throwing fastballs with less velocity than a High School JV pitcher, but thats in the rearview, hopefully. Hector Santiago has been one of the best surprises not only on the Angels but probably in the MLB. His emergence on the Angels staff is one of the reasons that the team is still contending for a pennant race, going forward Santiago will play an even bigger role. Add in the fact that Garrett Richards and C.J. Wilson have slowly been churning in more consistent quality starts and the Angels have the making of a very formidable staff. All in all, the starting rotation has done their job and then some in the first half.
