Gerardo Parra –

Gerardo Parra of the Milwaukee Brewers has been rumored to be headed to the Angels for almost a month now and still nothing has happened.  So why are the Brewers waiting to deal Parra?  They may be trying to draw more suitors for his services in order to push the cost up.  Parra may come at a lower price than say a Yoenis Cespedes or a Carlos Gonzalez, but the fact that he is unrestricted free agent may prove to be too much for a player who is averaging 7 home runs and 42 RBI’s per year while batting .278 with a .329 OBP.  Parra like Gonzalez and Murphy is a left-handed bat that can play multiple spots in the outfield.   My thoughts are that Parra is a player the Angels could pursue as a back-up plan.  I think he would be an upgrade from Matt Joyce, but again the cost of acquiring him may be too steep to make this a viable option.
