7. Angels are mentally tougher
When the whole Frank McCourt (Dodgers former owner) divorce and drama that came with it was unfolding the Dodgers crumbled and blamed the distraction. It wasn’t until after the team was sold that they finally turned themselves around. The Angels were still able to find ways to win this season and last season even with all of the reported unrest happening in the clubhouse due to the rift between former GM Jerry DiPoto and Angels manager Mike Scioscia. Not to mention the fact that when the Angels lost their all-star pitcher Garrett Richards in late August 2014 to a torn patella tendon the team actually went 24-10 down the stretch pulling away from the A’s for the AL West Title. This season the team began the year with controversy surround former left-fielder Josh Hamilton and his drug relapse. Then just when that all had seemed to die down the DiPoto-Scioscia rift got so ugly that DiPoto told the Angels to take this job and shove it. So what did the Angels do, go out and win 18 of their next 22 games. No excuses just winning. Including the best record in baseball last season.
