Curt Schilling

Arizona Diamondbacks (2000)

Arizona traded Travis Lee plus prospects to Philadelphia for Curt Schilling

And the rest is history.

The Diamondbacks were able to solidify a pitching staff that featured two of the best in baseball history. With Randy Johnson and Curt Schilling, the Diamondbacks seemed to be unbeatable in a short series. But a year later is when the impact was felt.

Schilling went 22-6 with a 2.98 ERA and 293 strikeouts in 256 innings. That season saw the Diamondbacks ride him all the way to the World Series. During those playoffs, Schilling compiled a 4-0 record with only 6 earned runs in 50 innings eventually helping to capture the World Series title from the New York Yankees in seven games. Which also saw Schilling be named the World Series MVP.
