Live from San Bernardino It’s Jered Weaver Rehab start #2

Tuesday night, Jered Weaver will again take the mound for the Inland Empire 66’ers for another rehab start. Hopefully, for Weaver and the Angels it will be the final step before returning to the Angels rotation which is tentatively scheduled for Sunday afternoon against the Baltimore Orioles. Weaver is scheduled to throw between 75 and 80 pitches. In his first rehab start last Thursday Weaver threw 63 pitches in 3.2 innings of work. With C.J. Wilson most likely lost for the season due to a left elbow injury, the Angels hope that Weaver will be able to get back to the rotation over the weekend so they don’t need to burn there bullpen like they did Sunday against the Dodgers. If Weaver cannot make his start on Sunday for the Angels the team may turn to Nick Tropeano who has made two starts this season for the team.
Again Halo Hangout will have live coverage of Weaver’s start from San Bernardino. Both myself David Rice and staff writer Grant Avise will be at San Manuel Stadium and will be tweeting inning by inning updates @calfladave22 which is my twitter handle and I will also tweet to the Halo Hangout twitter account @halohangout as well. Here’s hoping we will see Weaver back in Angels red soon.
