The crutch of a long term deal is the back end, and this is what the Yankees have had to deal with more than any other team. Sabathia has had a long, highly successful, career that has made him one of the best pitchers in this era. But for 2015 he is overpaid. The lefty hasn’t been able to find a consistent groove on the mound all year and has looked terrible at times. The season numbers are pretty clear at telling what type of year he has had. Due to his track record you can never count him out, but Sabathia is for sure one of the top overpaid players.
