The Oakland A’s checking in here is a bit surprising because this team seems allergic to spending money. The Yankees may have the highest paid CF in Jacoby Ellsbury, but the A’s take the cake due to the fact that the CF position takes up about 20% of their total payroll compared to the Yankees 10%. Coco Crisp is the big culprit here, taking $11 million this season despite contributing basically nothing. Billy Burns has been the everyday guy for the A’s and hasn’t done a bad job hitting just under .300, while making under $500,000 this season.
