Nick Tropeano – Tropeano was acquired along with catcher Carlos Perez for Hank Conger during the winter of 2014. Tropeano spent most of the 2015 season in the minors being called up to make a couple of spot starts in April, July, and August, before sticking in the rotation in September making four starts going 2-0 with a 2.53 ERA. His finest start was his last of 2015 when he limited the Oakland A’s to one run on three hits in 6.2 innings while striking out 11 batters. Overall, Tropeano finished 3-2 with a 3.92 ERA. He showed that he can pitch in the majors, but just as with Shoemaker, Tropeano may be the odd man out as well as Shoemaker.
Tropeano will be a solid front-line starter in the future, but for now he will have to either work out of the bullpen or with the right situation the a spot start for the Angels. Tropeano will eventually be in the rotation for real in the future.
I hope you liked this look at the Angels potential starters, we will see what happens. One thing for sure it will not be dull.
