David DeJesus

Grade: F

DeJesus was one of the three left fielders picked up at the trade deadline along with Murphy and Victorino. One word could describe DeJesus’ play for the Angels: Awful, with a capital A. DeJesus got to play right away upon being acquired from Tampa Bay and he never really could get anything going at the plate and he was a liability on defense. DeJesus batted .125 with no home runs and four RBIs in 30 games for the Angels.

With a career .275 average, 99 career home runs and 573 RBIs, the Angels hoped DeJesus would add a left-handed bat who could provide a little bit of pop, but that never materialized. The Angels have a $5 million club option for 2016, but almost assuredly they will opt to buy out DeJesus’ contract for $1 million instead.
