Trevor Gott: B+

One of the young stars of the Halos’ bullpen last season, Gott was traded to the Washington Nationals in December for Yunel Escobar, whom the Angels are hoping can take over the third base duties in 2016.

It was a tough blow to the bullpen as I thought Gott could have been one of the relievers of the future for the Angels.

In 2015, his rookie year, he went 4-2 with a with a respectable 3.02 ERA in 47.2 innings.

And at the tender age of 22, he will only get better. A solid arm who doesn’t strike out a lot of batters but knows how to get guys out, Gott will probably perform well in Washington who struggled last year in the relief department.

Mike Morin: C

In his second year with the Angels, Morin saw an appalling spike in his ERA, from 2.90 in 2014 to 6.37 last year.

It was a hit or miss year for Morin where he allowed 36 hits in 35.1 innings but also struck out 41, averaging a little more than one each per inning.

Morin figures to have a better year next season. He won four games in each of the previous two and his strikeout numbers, which have been high throughout his career, should continue to improve.
