Los Angeles Angels: Top 5 Center Fielders in Team History

5. Fred Lynn (4 seasons, 473 games)
10.1 WAR, .271 BA, 456 H, 71 HR, 270 RBI
Lynn played only four of his 17 Big League seasons with the Halos, but in those four years he racked up the final three All-Star appearances of his career.
Demonstrating incredible resilience, he batted only .219 in his first year with the team before spiking that number to .299 the next season, but he might best be remembered with the Angels for his performance in the 1982 ALCS where he hit .611 with a home run and five RBI. Lynn was the only player in ALCS history to win the MVP award and be on the losing team
A model of consistency (minus his first year with the team), he hit at least 21 long balls and drove in at least 74 runs in his final three years in Southern California.
His defense was also exceptional, as he ranked in the top-4 in fielding percentage across the Majors in the 1982 and 1983 seasons. Lynn also became the only player in Major League history to hit a grand slam in the All-Star Game, connecting off of the Giants’ Atlee Hammaker in the third inning of a 13-3 AL victory.
