Left-Handed Reliever

1992 Season: Record 3-1 ERA 7.45 WHIP 2.250

Scott Bailes as a very likeable guy, but as a pitcher for the Angels from 1990-1992 his results were anything but likeable for the Angels and their fans.  His overall ERA for this period was 5.80 and his WHIP for the same period was 1.719.  When Bailes went into the game in 1992 it was like spontaneous combustion as the opposing teams bats would explode.

Nothing seemed to go right for Bailes in 1992 as he gave up 59 hits and 28 walks in only 38.2 innings good enough for a WHIP of 2.250.  He also gave up 32 Earned Runs which included seven home runs that ballooned his ERA to a lofty 7.45 leaving fans wishing that the Starship Enterprise would come down and beam Scotty up and never return.  After this dreadful season they got their wish as Bailes left and took his talents to Texas where they like everything big including his ERA.
